Classroom Policies
What do I do if I am absent?
- Try to always attend class. Some assignments like labs and in-class discussions are difficult to makeup. I will provide alternate assignments for those with excused absences.
- Ask what happened in class the day you were absent and catch-up on any notes etc. that you may have missed from a classmate. If I gave a lecture that day or handed out a worksheet or assignment, please look in the "Absent" folder by my desk.
- You are responsible for turning in any assignments that were due the day that you were absent. I will only accept the assignment if the absence is excused. If it is not excused, you will receive a zero for that assignment.
- I do not accept any late work. I will only accept late work from students with excused absences.
- If you are absent on the day of an exam and your absence is not excused, you will receive a zero on that exam. Make sure to talk to me if you can't take the exam that day due to a personal emergency (not studying does not count as a personal emergency!).
- There are few opportunities to receive extra credit, so make sure to always give it your all!
- Do your own work!!! If you are caught cheating or plagiarizing you will receive a zero on that assignment or exam and further action will be taken using the districts "Academic Dishonesty" guidelines.
Grading Policies
I know that you are anxious to know what your grade is so I will try to grade everything as quickly as I can!!!
Your grade will be based on points that you receive from assignments, labs, exams, and class participation. Please refer to the individual syllabus for the course you are in as the amount of points that you can receive in each section varies depending on what course you are taking. The grading scale below, is the same for all classes: A 90-100% B 80-89% C 70-79% D 60-69% F 59% and below If you are struggling in class, don't wait until the last week of school to try and bring your grade up! I am here to help and want each and everyone of you to succeed. Come see me as soon as possible so that I can help! |
